Sebum is a fatty substance secreted by the sebaceous glands; when it stagnates on the skin it is called "oily seborrhea." The hair results in this case oily with dry ends; on the other hand, if it is deposited at the hairline weighing down the hair with greasy and shiny skin it is "flowing seborrhea."
Inevitably, targeted but nonaggressive scalp sanitization with gentle and frequent hair cleansing is required.
